An Awesome 5 Day Teaching Camp

JUMPSTART is a 5 day dynamic and directional teaching camp aimed at Christian home-educated teens between 15-17 years.
This camp is uniquely designed to provide solid foundational Bible teaching, contemporary apologetics, and to address some key life issues that Christian youth may be facing today. Jumpstart also offers a variety of planned recreational activities, meaningful worship, and the opportunity to develop wholesome and lasting friendships with peers who love Jesus.
Spiritual foundations will be reinforced, friendships will be strengthened, and most importantly, one’s relationship with Jesus Christ ‘as our LIFE’ will be taught, nurtured and encouraged.
Jumpstart is not only about equipping the next generation in the Word and ways of God, but even more importantly to help them discover who Jesus Christ really is, and all He wants to be and do in their life!

Galatians
Finding True Freedom in Jesus Christ
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
Paul’s letter to the Galatians is spiritual dynamite! It was written to rescue believers from a distorted gospel and call them back to the cross of Christ alone.
At the heart of the letter is Paul’s defense of the gospel of grace against every form of legalism. We are justified by grace through faith, which means believers have spiritual freedom and are not under bondage to the dictates of the Old Testament Law, nor to any man-made laws or traditions as requirements for being Christian.
Paul soundly condemns anyone who would denigrate the grace of God and attempt to change the gospel. After giving his apostolic credentials and emphasizing that righteousness comes through faith in Christ, not the works of the Law, he tells the Galatians to stand fast in their freedom and not be “entangled again with a yoke of bondage”—specifically, legalism.
Christian freedom, however, is not an excuse to gratify the sinful nature; rather, freedom is an opportunity to love one another. The Christian life is to be lived in the power of the Spirit, not the flesh. The flesh has been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20), and as a consequence, the Spirit bears His fruit in the life of the believer.
Bottom line: Jesus plus anything ruins everything! Jumpstarters should come away with a clear sense of what is at stake in Galatians: whether we will trust a gospel of grace, centred on the cross and the Spirit, or a gospel of human effort clothed in religious language.

Not only this, but the youth leaders are also taking valuable time off school or work in order to volunteer for each week of camp - a real sacrifice on their part. The Crossing is a great place to learn and have fun. The talent show and night games were very fun. I enjoyed the deep understanding of God that the teachers and small group leaders had which was ever present. I am definitely keen to go again.

I can't really write in words how Jumpstart impacted me. It was really a combination of everything. The amazing teachings, the people there, The Crossing itself and the absolute fun with games and activities we had. It made me see that there ARE other people out there who have a desire to learn more about our Creator but also to have a lot fun doing it! Everyone was kind, enthusiastic, funny and open. It was wonderful to see that all had a real desire to learn. The games were a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves and had an absolute blast. The Staff gave their absolute all! The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was only 5 days!

All the parents I know who sent their children previously have been so impressed with the venue, teaching, atmosphere and value for money and have booked them in for next year. They seem to have the right balance of clean loopy fun and deep thought-provoking, faith-stretching teaching and discussion. I am hoping that all my children will be able to go at least twice to deepen their faith, make great friends, both with other homeschoolers and also the wonderful students and teachers at The Crossing, and to experience the fun and great teaching that is Jumpstart. My 2 older children are both keen to go again and again.

If you're on the edge thinking about this can HIGHLY recommend it.
My son went to the NSW one and it was truly a huge blessing - he came back a different kid. Made some wonderful friendships. But mostly his desire to learn and get closer to God was so great to watch.

Jumpstart has been the most impactful and most meaningful camp my 2 eldest sons have been to. While they have attended other Christian camps, both of my boys have said Jumpstart has hands down been the one camp that has both challenged and deepened their faith. Resulting in them walking stronger and differently with the Lord. The intentionality and care of the leaders, the small group discussions, and friendships they have fostered have been a blessing to my children. If you send your teen to any camp - make it Jumpstart.

I wish something like Jumpstart had been available when I was a teenager. In just one week, campers can gain a solid foundation in both the written and living Word of God—enough to give them a truthful framework for navigating life. They also benefit from meaningful shared experiences with their “tribe,” forming positive relationships that can last a lifetime. I highly recommend Jumpstart camps for homeschoolers.
